Lupus and Allied Diseases Association, Inc.

The Alliance for Gout Awareness is proud to highlight the Lupus and Allied Diseases Association, Inc., or LADA, in this month’s member feature. LADA is an all-volunteer national patient advocacy organization dedicated to enhancing quality of life by educating and empowering individuals impacted by lupus and allied diseases and other conditions of unmet need.

“By partnering with the Alliance for Gout Awareness, the Lupus and Allied Diseases Association is able to increase awareness about the impact of lupus and allied diseases and other inflammatory diseases such as gout. We know firsthand that lupus and gout do not just affect an individual, but also impact family, friends and others close to us,” said Kathleen A. Arntsen, President & CEO of LADA.

Founded in 1978, the Lupus and Allied Diseases Association is a passion-driven, patient-focused charity led by people with lupus and other autoimmune diseases who work to ensure that the patient perspective is included and recognized as an equal stakeholder in the health care, regulatory and public policy arenas and across the research continuum.

It is LADA’s goal to improve access to care and quality of life by fostering collaboration among stakeholders, promoting unity in the community, and wielding the patient voice as a catalyst to advance advocacy, education, awareness and research initiatives that will advance better diagnostics and discover superior treatments, and ultimately, cures.
