Gout is an extremely serious and potentially debilitating disease that affects more than 9.2 million Americans. It is the most common form of inflammatory arthritis, yet it is widely misunderstood and poorly treated. While serious on its own, gout is even more dangerous when combined with other health issues. The connection between gout and renal health is especially important and will be highlighted in the following paper.
